I want to start collecting action figures and was wondering what figures will be a nice investment way down the road. I like alotta the figures from the 80′s and 90′s. Thanks for the help.
Action figures do not appreciate like they once did since so many people collect them now and save them MOC which did not happen previously.
Additionally a lot of the 80s, 90s figures which were raised in value by nostalgia are now being hurt by the same nostalgia since new versions and rereleases of the figures are being sold.
If you want to make money in the future on things currently being sold I recommend high end 1/6 figures and also 1/18 scale military collectibles (primarily aircraft). Also whatever kids are playing with today that are being ignored by collectors (NOT SW, Harry Potter, Transformers, etc) these will be the things that they are nolstalgic over and will want when are later entering the work force and have money
well… i think batman will never be over rated. but you must be a fan of the comics to understand the figure, where it comes from, whos the creator and all that.
I collect vinyl figures from kidrobot, tokidoki, coarse toys… they are not action figures but they are very original and some of them are worth a lot of money.
thats what i think would be good investment because thats what i like. but you should think about what you like.
