What are some good action figures to collect?

The summer has taken its toll and now I’m bored out of my mind. I’ve always liked action figures so I just wanted to know some good action figures to collect. As strange as it seems, I see this in a way as an investment so I would like to have action figures that will increase in value over time. Please be specific for example: year, brand, size.

I’m not necessarily saying pokemon, but many Japanese anime and manga shows have very creative and unique characters, which kind of reflects on to the action figures made of them, so finding something like that would be a good investment. Hope you find something you like.

    Bowlda B is right. For example the Japanese Anime toys from Digimon have really begun to go up in value.

    Also, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys from the 80′s are beginning to rise in value as well.
