What is the best comic book to draw figures from?

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

My boyfriend is a great artist, and loves to draw figures out of comic books. Among his favorites are the Justice League, Spiderman, Superman, etc. Pretty much the classics. However, he also enjoys the stories of them. I’m hoping to surprise him with a book for Valentines day, but want it to be something he will appreciate. Someone help me find the best combination between good story line and good figures to draw!

What public figures do i email about child labor?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

I am doing a project and need to email some public figures about the injustice child labor and whats being done(foreign and domestic), any ideas of who i can email or even write a letter to?

Lots of people you can email. It’s getting them to respond that’s the hard part.

Here’s a suggestion that covers two projects. Look up the US Senators for your state and email them. (Hint: There’s two of them.) And then your US Representative. (Hint: There’s only one of him.) There’s also your state Senators and state Representative, not to mention your Governor.

All in all, you not only do your project, but you also get a second project in your government and civics. The only bad thing is they might take 2 weeks or so to respond, but they do like to respond to their constituents. (I’ve never failed to get a response.)

What are some cool action figures that have removable armor?

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I’m looking to find a bunch of types of figures. The Mospeada bike armor and the Ex gear Alto are the types I’m looking for. Pretty much any figure that you can attach armor plates, jetpacks, weapons, etc. The more attachments it has the better.

What are good action figures to get a 6yo?

Action figures usually accompany cartoons; does he have any favorites?

If he doesn’t then you could be sneaky and buy him the cheapest toys and then get him hooked on the cartoon show! He’ll never know the difference. I don’t know what’s available in your area but in some UK stores Storm Hawks figurines (characters + motorbikes) are at knock-down clearance prices which is surprising considering it’s a very good show and still popular.

How tall do fashion figures have to be for portfolios to show to a Fashion College?

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I know they have to be 10 heads but do they have to be a certain amount of inches tall to be good enough for fashion schools? I want to make a portfolio and I like to draw my figures about 9" or 10 " tall, but is that good enough? Do I need them to be afew inches taller? Or does it not even matter because they already have the right proportions? Please help me… ^_^ give as much info as you can, thanks soooo much!

im not a fashion major but i attended an art school with a huge fashion program. all the model drawings ive seen from the fashion majors are just about that size ( they all fit nicely on a 9.5×11 piece of paper), so i’d say youre doing it right. as long as youve got the right proportions, just give yourself enough space where you can comfortably show your design talent! good luck!

What would happen if salaries for sports figures and celebrities were capped?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Many companies and small businesses are being told they must cap the salaries of their employees. The fair thing is to take from the rich, so that those "at the bottom" can share in the wealth. Two of the highest paid professions in the country are sports figures, and celebrities. These people get literally millions to play a game or pretend they are someone else. Should their salaries be capped as well?

They would have a fit.

They make too much money, but if they can make it, so be it. Talk about capping the Senate or the House (yes, the laq makers need more $ while the rest of us do not.) :((
