Yes–I realized my error and went to I-tunes and discovered the Kingbees are now on there and bought some songs! Good catch Wyzeguy719. I better get some Tommy Tutone, Romantics, Tubes and Rockpile to go with my 1980 “flashback”!

Switching to Glide …
Switching to Glide was The Kings (another great early 80s band). The Kingbees were a sweet 3-piece rockabilly group. They had a couple “hits” including Shake-Bop and My Mistake. Really a fun band.
Do a YouTube search and you can find a lot of their songs here.

They still sound …
They still sound great, even 25 years later. Can’t wait for the re-release of their first LP. Hey, WorstNightmare, I remember the KingBees. Saw them at the Roxy. Fantastic band. If there’s a flight leaving for 1983, book me on it, too.

Left Big D in 77 for Lost Angels. Discovered KROQ in spring of 78 and never looked back. Burned up my cassette walkman replaying this. Now who remembers The Kingbee’s? Lock me up in 83 and throw away the key.

No, I think that he just let it go. It was probably pretty beat up by then and he uses something else that he likes now. It was also rather expensive and he hated to have to buy it “twice” if you know what I mean.
