what is the clip on the hasbro lightsaber?

i have a hasbro blue lightsaber and on the top of the hilt above the gray (or grey) knob with red but not an arrow on it is a clip thing and i don’t know what it’s for.

Need to see a pic, but some of the prequel model lightsabers had a mounting notch to attach them to Covertec brand cellphone holders (original trilogy used loops).

or it could be a safety lever like some lightsabers.
