My 4 month old has everything in her mouth. I want to make sure everything is clean, but I don’t know if it’s ok to put stuffed animals in the washer. Some of them have the crackly material inside pieces of them, as well as plastic parts. Is the washer ok, or should I soak them and hang them out to dry?
Put them in a pillow case (knot the case closed) and run them through the gentle cycle in the machine, and tumble dry low. They should come out wonderfully. It’s so nice to see a mom who is concerned about hygeine and her baby’s health.

Throw them in the washer with detergent and warm water, and then in the dryer, you may want to wash them in a net bag so the plastic pieces don’t get scratched up. It’s good to do that like once a month, it gets rid of dust mites too.

put the regular stuffed animals in the washer inside of a pillow case
this is what i did when i wasn’t sure (like the ones with the plastic-like sound on the inside, my daughter’s elephant had the crackly sounding ears)…. i put a big kettle full of water on to boil, and put the toys in a metal colander and placed the colander on top of the kettle (big enough one so that it don’t go into the water) and let it steam for 5 minutes…. then i just put it on the bottle rack to dry.
i poured boiling water on the hard plastic toys (it was typically water that i had just sterilized bottles in, so was the toy steaming water…. made it all quick and easy and used less water and energy)

I have always just thrown them into the washer and then into the dryer!! They always come out just fine.
